Recently we celebrated my daughter's 2nd birthday. Thanks to ideas on Pinterest I went with Ducks & Rainbows. My daughter loves Ducks and rainbow colors seemed to fit. We had it at a local play gym and the kiddos had so much fun.
There were quite a few people so I did a big round cake with a duck topper and 4 dozen cupcakes. The candy on the cake was Gobstoppers and the sprinkles are from the Funfetti frosting. The topper was actually a horn for a bike but I couldn't find a large duck like I wanted and that worked out perfect. The cupcake toppers were from Ebay. For the food I did PBJs (bad idea only a few people ate them) and rainbow fruit kabobs (good idea everyone ate them.) For the favor bags I did birthday rubber ducks, noise makers, and giant rainbow suckers all from Oriental Trading Co along with licorice ropes from Costco. I didn't have to come up with any games since the gym did that for us. Overall if was a great birthday party if you ask me.
Apparently my little sister is heading up to Alaska for a bit and talking about it got me looking at the pictures from our cruise a couple years ago. It was such a fun time in a pretty place. Here are some of my favorite photos from it. I highly recommend going if you ever get the chance.
Sitka was probably my favorite town we went to. I went on a photo excursion and then explored the town with my new photo friend. The totem pole was made in remembrance of a photographer that loved the spot where it was put up overlooking an island where a group of eagles nested. It is probably one of my favorite spots I have ever been to. We also go to see salmon spawning and a couple bears swimming.
We also went to Ketchikan, Victoria BC, Glacier Bay & Juneau. Ignore the watermarks from my old business.

I think this was an old Russian church. It was pretty. I would love to photograph a wedding there.

My little one picked the winners this morning after breakfast and then spent about 30 min just throwing all of the entries in the air over & over. Doing actual small pieces of paper with a 2 year old may have been a bad idea in hindsight. At least she had fun with it.
Without further delay, the winners are:
Family Portrait Session - Lela T.
Engagement Session - Audeena F.
Boudoir Session with hair/make-up - Amy W.
Lela, I think yours was meant to be. She actually picked you twice. The first time I hadn't mixed them up yet so I put it back and showed her how to mix them and she picked you again.
Introducing (3 months late)... Baby Devon Grey. She is tied with her big sister for the squishiest, sweetest baby ever. I should hopefully be posting some photos of her 3 month shoot soon.
I am slowly updating my website, online portfolio, blog, etc. If you would like to see some of my recent work that isn't posted on here, make sure to check out my facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jones-Custom-Photography/121274141291000
I just finished setting up my profile on WeddingWire.com so feel free to click on the link above and go there to leave a review about how awesome I am....at least pertaining to taking photos.
I am also working on setting up a testimonials page for the website so I would love them to use here as well.
October was a busy wedding month for me. I had the pleasure of last minute photographing Mike & Stephanie's wedding at the Columbia River LDS Temple along with their large but adorable family.
Yay for my first Mormon wedding. While I didn't get to see the ceremony, the formal pics and reception were a lot of fun. Right before sunset, the clouds rolled in but not before we were able to get some really pretty shots with the sky.
The entire group.
These were amazing. The chocolate one in the background had real gold leafing in it.
Last month, I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of one of my high school friends (and Prom Date) Brent & his wife Sarah. It was a beautiful and fun wedding where I was able to catch up with quite a few people I haven't seen in a few years. Many images from their wedding are now on my list of favorite wedding images I have captured. I will try to only post a few of them though and won't post the ones I already have on facebook.

I lied, this one is on facebook. I like it though so you get to see it again.
