Recently I had a senior session for this beauty. During hair & make-up the sun completely disappeared over an hour before it should have leaving us to shoot in the dark. This particular senior did not want studio portraits so I packed up my lights and we headed to the Uptown to shoot in the alley way. During our first shot, my light flew over in the wind and busted. Thank goodness I only take my cheaper lights on location. In a total "make it work" situation, I used my car head lights and camera flash to create some really fun portraits giving my senior a different look that she was wanting. Being from Othello, she did not want anything that looked like everyone else in the yearbook. We had such a fun time and the resulting images are probably some of my favorite senior portraits I have ever created.
It just occurred as I was posting this, that most of my recent sessions are at Chiawana Park. What can I say? It is a beautiful place this time of year. Here is an engagement session from my promo shoots last month.
I am still on a high from how amazing my weddings were over the summer and how much fun each couple was. Here is a book layout I recently did for this sweet couple. Congrats again Lori & Steve! I hope you have many years of happiness! The layout you are viewing is for my 10x10 coffee table style books with 40 pages. For more information on Wedding Photography please call 509.521.3611 Every once in awhile I get a call to do a model test shoot for girls in the area getting signed on with agencies. I love doing these sessions because we get to have some fun. This cute little girl came in recently and was so nervous at first. By the end of the session she was having a blast. Every year, I wonder how the next year's weddings can possibly top the current season. This year is no exception. I have had the best wedding season ever and just love all of the couples that I was able to capture their weddings. This church wedding/vow renewal at Christ the Kink and Anthology in Richland, WA is no exception. Congrats Lisa & Ian, you guys are the sweetest couple and I hope you have many more years of happiness! Did you know that I can create beautiful head shots in just minutes? My friend Jamie needed some updated business portraits quickly last week. We were able to get her into the studio right away and capture some beautiful images (way better than the cell phone ones she was trying to do on her own.)
If you are in need of updated business portrait, give me a call at 509-521-3611. My sessions take about 15 minutes and give you plenty to chose from to get the look you need as a business professional. Miss Charlotte came in for her 3 month session. Is she not the cutest baby ever? She was so vocal during her session, which I managed to capture on video. I am looking forward to the rest of her first year. It goes by so quickly, I am honored that I get to be here to capture all of these little ones during their first year. If you would like more information on my Baby Steps- Grow with Me program, please give me a call at 509-521-3611 Every year I think that the current wedding season couldn't possibly be as great as next year. This year has been the best so far! Beautiful weddings of all types and amazingly sweet couples who are just happy to be married and their photos just show the love that is present with each day. This wedding is no exception and one of my favorites of the year since it involved a few days of family time in the sand ending with a lovely beach wedding in Lincoln City, OR. Here is the wedding slideshow from Jace & Aspyn's Wedding: If you or someone you know is looking for a wedding photographer in Lincoln City or on the Oregon Coast, contact me! I don't need much of an excuse to head to the beach.
Has it really been two months since I posted on my blog? I was doing so well at regular updates. If you see this happen take it as an indication that I am super busy. Right now I am posting from a balcony over looking the ocean in Lincoln City where I am in town to photograph a beach wedding. Super excited and enjoying some much needed family time for a couple days first.
Once I get back I will update with all of the weddings I have been capturing and throw in some cute Baby Steps sessions as well. Hope you are having an amazing summer! xoxo Felicia I love coming across old work. Here are a few spreads from my first Boudoir calendar that I created. While I have definitely improved since then, I still feel good about the images for being something from when I first started. (Trust me there are quite a few old shoots that make me want to make fun of myself.) We were shooting out of my old business partner's house at the time instead of a studio.
This is one of the shoots that officially hooked me on boudoir photography. I am glad it has become more mainstream in our area since then. Even though it was maybe 8 years ago, people would look at me like I was crazy when I would try to get clients for boudoir and pin-up sessions. Easter weekend I photographed the Easter Bunny portraits for the Pasco Jaycee's Easter Eggstravaganza. Not only was it fun seeing all the kiddos dressed up in their Easter clothes but I super impressed my little ones since I "know the real Easter Bunny." If you came here to see your photos at the event click here: http://jonescustomphotography.shootproof.com/event/1337634 Here are my little ones: I didn't get to see them hunt eggs but it went about how anything else does. The 5 year old took off and got as many eggs as she could where Mr. Jones lost track of her while he had to deal with the little one. She started out, bonked heads with another kid and cried for most of the rest of the egg hunt. She came to me at the bunny portraits crying because she only got 5 eggs and wanted "lots & lots & lots" like big sister. Maybe next year. Here are some of my favorites from the event: Check out the Jaycee's next big event, the Haunted Forest this fall!
I finally upgraded to a better camera! - Just incase you haven't seen me going on and on about in other places online :) - As planned, my new camera has HD video on it. My next step has always been to venture into the world of Fusion photography. Fusion photography is a mesh of photography and videography where you have little snippets of video mixed in with a still-photo slide show. I am so excited about all of the possibilities this will bring for capturing the emotion and memories of anyone that I photograph. There are so many plans in the works for implementing this into wedding and boudoir photography, along with everything else that I capture with my camera. Here is the first fusion photography slideshow I created: Thank you Jessica for coming to the studio and letting me try this out on you and your sweet daughter! She has been a long time client and I have photographed her wedding, her mom/step-dad's wedding, she came to mine and used my camera to take a group shot of everyone at mine and I look forward to more events with her in the future. Stay tuned for a sample of fusion wedding photography here in about a month! My favorite images from a wedding are the ones that capture a moment and tell the story. Don't get me wrong, I love a beautiful bride and a handsome group posed somewhere for standard wedding portraits but the ones that keep me in love with wedding photography are the images that can't be staged. A couple months ago, I second shot for one of my photographer friends and I love how many moments I was able to capture at this wedding. They are mostly from the groom's perspective since I was with the men for a change. Here are some of my favorites: How amazing is their venue? This wedding was held at Castle Catering's Anthology venue, decorated by Sash Wedding Decor to set the mood and the lovely cake was created by Frost Me Sweet.
If you came by to check out the event photos from the Leprechaun Limbo, they are officially online. This is the 3rtd year we photographed the event. Each year it is bigger, better and all of the boys have a blast with their mom's. Looking forward to next year! Link to the entire album: http://jonescustomphotography.shootproof.com/leprechaunlimbo0315 Prints are available for order online or contact me directly. If you were a vendor at the event and would like a copy of photos showcasing your booth/product contact me as well. Here are some of my favorite photos from the event: If you have an event coming up and need photos captured contact me for information. I love shooting candid images to capture every detail of an event.
