Last September, I photographed the Quinceañera for one of my good friend's daughters. It was my first actual Quinceañera ceremony I had been to but not the first party for one. It was a nice change up from a wedding and I got quite a few photos that have become my favorites. I am honored that I was able to be a part of her quince.
My good friends Nate & Angela came for a visit this weekend not only did they help my husband finally get his beer kit brewed (that I got him for his birthday two years ago) but we also had a chance to go out for a fun engagement portrait session. Can't wait for the wedding next summer in Everett, WA! It should be a blast and I am super happy for you guys. Excited to also try out the wedding beer!
I almost didn't take my camera to the fireworks this year. I just wasn't feeling the 4th at all. It was a busy week, it was hot, we didn't even light off fireworks like we usually do, and it felt like a hassle to find my tripod & camera equipment. I am really really glad that I did though. My firework images from this year are probably my favorite ones ever. Here are a few of them:

I love poppies...the real kind (who doesn't?) A couple years ago I was given some pink poppy seed pods from a friend who is pretty much responsible for most of our plants that are in our yard. I lost them and this spring, my husband planted them for me as a surprise when he found them. He is the green thumb of the two of us. I manage to kill about everything green especially if it is in the house.
I am in love with these pink poppies! They started blooming a couple weeks ago and they are just gorgeous. Now I need to find someone to trade me for some red/orange pods and I will be set.
I am probably on some sort of government flag list because I was looking up all sorts of things about them and how morphine & heroin are made.
