Drop what you are doing and check out the cuteness below! I am in love with the images from the newborn session for theses sweet twins. I had the pleasure of photographing mom & dad's wedding last October and now I get to capture the first year of their new babies.
My husband has been bugging me for a few years to have my own boudoir images done. This might come as a surprise but like most photographers, I am a complete hypocrite about getting in front of the camera in general let alone not wearing much in-front of someone else in-front of a camera. I can tell you all day how amazing you are right now and that it is all about posing, I even believe it when saying this to my clients. When it comes to myself in images I laugh at my inner photographer having this conversation.
Well, I finally did it. I have been teaching my make-up artist/assistant how to use my camera over the last couple years, so during a marathon weekend I had her do my face between clients and help me snap a few portraits. Don't worry, you will not have to look at them. Neither Mr Jones or I want them out there so they will stay private like most of my sessions.
The weekend I did my portraits, I took them for 8 other women. I made each of them feel beautiful and posed them in ways I knew would work but really didn't have the confidence when it came to my own portraits. I put off even looking at them until everyone else's were done and finally bit the bullet to edit them so that I could get my own gift in time for Valentine's Day.
You know what? They were bad at all! It was a little hard to remember everything I usually tell people in posing and my assistant has been around long enough to know what I look I go for in a boudoir image. In general, the unedited images didn't horrify me. I figured I might get one or two images to chose from but over all I had about 12 of them. It wasn't even like I had 12 that were ok, I had that many that I actually liked myself in and felt pretty amazing about. I even think I would like to do it again on a day where I could be fresh vs just completing back-to-back boudoir sessions.
Over the next week after ordering my husband's gift, I noticed that I actually felt better about how I looked. If I could look good half dressed in portraits then real life couldn't be that bad either right? I could probably even say I feel beautiful. Definitely a bit more confident.
I sincerely hope that my clients feel this way after seeing their images.

The last couple weeks have been all about babies! I am not going to complain since I love a good baby fix and adore capturing all the little details of a brand new baby.
Welcome baby Hailey! We didn't get a chance to do maternity portraits for mom so I went to the hospital to capture all of the fun stuff that happens right after a baby enters the world including meeting big sister.
A couple weekends ago we took our littles to Disney's Pirate's and Princess Adventure for my baby's 3rd birthday. How is she already 3? Afterwards we stopped by the studio where my older daughter requested I capture images of her sweet ninja moves. There is so much going on in these photos that I can't even handle it.
1. My older daughter is adamantly against wearing dresses. She insisted on a suit for Christmas. To this event, she wore an Anna dress much to our shock because "the real Cinderella was going to be there" Later it was revealed that she wore her ninja clothes underneath.
2. The baby is in the phase where if mom's camera comes out she gets whiny and won't cooperate. Hence the sad face in most of the images unless I was pretending to get hurt. Based on the first I have about a year until I can get real portraits again.
3. The ninja moves. All of it was her idea
4. The baby getting into it and wanting to do her own Frozen ninja moves which resulted in a meltdown because I wouldn't let her jump off of my little plastic pink chairs.
Love these kids! Life is so much more interesting with them around.
Welcome! If you have visited the site before, you might notice that I recently revamped it. The biggest difference you might notice is that I have geared everything towards the wedding and glamour side of my business. I really want to focus on these two genres right now. This doesn't meant that I am not going to be photographing everything else though so don't hesitate to ask if you need portraits for your family, baby business or pets! You just might not see as much of these things online or in advertising for the business.
I am super excited about where this next year is going to take the studio!
